Teaser Betting

Teaser bets have gained a lot of popularity in the past year with new sports bettors entering the market faster than ever. The teaser bet looks like a great bet on the surface, yet it usually is a losing bet over the long haul.

Teaser bets are usually the most common in football. For other sports, teasers do not carry as much significance in the amount of points you get. In football, teaser bets usually involve the bettor being able to move the line on the game 6, 6.5 and 7 points. This means that if you like one team at -7, you can move them to a pick. Then you select another team to bet and you move the spread 7 points on that game as well.

In order for you to win your bet, both teams that you bet on must cover the spread that you changed it to. The odds on teasers vary, so you should check out a few different offshore sportsbooks to find the best odds.

Teasers are mainly 2-team bets, but can also be as many as a 6 teams. The more teams you add to a teaser, the better the odds will be. It works just like a parlay.

Most serious sports bettors frown upon teasers, but many use them during the NFL. With spreads being very tight in the NFL, teasers actually offer some value to bettors. In all other sports however, I would recommend you staying away from betting teasers, or just betting them for fun.
