Baseball Underdogs
In most sports, underdogs are the best way to make a profit over the long haul. This is especially true in baseball, where the favorites always seem like such an easy play. After running some numbers over the past 5 years, if a bettor were to take all of the favorites vs. taking all of the underdogs, they would have lost 4x more money! Does this mean you should bet on every underdog, every day? Definately not. There are a few situations where underdogs are a great bet.

Home underdogs in a divisional rivalry
Division rivalries such as the Yankees/Red Sox and Indians/White Sox present bettors with a great chance to make good money off the underdog. When you have two good teams going against each other in a divisional game, the score is generally lower than other games during the season. When games are low scoring, underdog bettors have a better chance of winning.
Teams playing well in their last 10
Baseball is a game of streaks like no other. Riding a team on a hot streak is a great play in baseball betting, while it's not always the best thing to do in other sports. Usually during streaks, the teams have high levels of confidence and good team chemistry which leads to less pressure and better performance. Winning is contagious, and teams that are playing well continue the same good habits more often than not.
Looking for some of these situations throughout the season will help you make your underdog bets much more valuable.
